Define Your Niche:

Identify your unique gaming niche or area of interest. Whether it's gameplay commentary, let's plays, reviews, walkthroughs, or tutorials, find what sets you apart and focus on that specialization. Developing a clear niche will help you attract a specific audience and build a loyal community.

- Gameplay Commentary is when you talk about how you're playing the game, the tricks you've discovered, the parts to avoid, etc.

- Reviews are when you review the content of the game and provide your opinion and thoughts about the game on Youtube.

- Walkthroughs are step by step solution that you tell the audience that can help them complete the game.

- Tutorial are when you teach your audience about the rules and way of doing things in a certain game.

- In my Youtube channel I basically show my how to do stuff and my niche is Tutorials.

Plan Your Content:

Create a content strategy by outlining the type of videos you want to produce, the frequency of uploads, and a consistent schedule. Planning your content in advance will keep you organized and help you maintain a regular presence on your channel.

You can choose a day of the week(such as Wednesday) and the designate that day as your publishing day if one of your goals is to post more frequently, such as once a week. This is a fantastic Youtube marketing strategy that will pique the interest of your viewers in your videos.

You can better organise your video content if you have a plan. On other sites, you can see which videos would make good end screens and which groups of videos can be in the same playlist.

You'll be able to point viewers to other helpful videos you have and keep them on your channel longer, which will be very helpful when it comes to audience retention.

Invest in Equipment:

While you don't need the most expensive gear right away, invest in essential equipment to improve the quality of your videos. A decent microphone, a webcam or camera, and video editing software are crucial tools to enhance the production value of your content.

In my personal case I don't do gameplay commentary I just post my gameplay without voiceover so i don't particularly need a microphone. I game on an Ipad and also edit my video on IMovies which is free of cost you can use free video editing tools like Kinemaster, I used to edit videos on Hitfilm Express on my Laptop you can do the same as it is a free alternative to Premium Pro.

Develop Your Unique Style:

Differentiate yourself by cultivating a unique style and personality that resonates with your target audience. Inject your own flair, humor, or insights into your videos. Authenticity and originality will help you stand out in the crowded gaming landscape. Don't try to copy your favorite Youtuber be unique.

Master Video Editing:

Take the time to learn video editing techniques to enhance the visual appeal of your content. Trim unnecessary parts, add captions, incorporate transitions, and experiment with effects to create captivating videos. Software like Adobe Premiere Pro or free alternatives like DaVinci Resolve can help you polish your videos.

I used to spend a lot of time editing my videos back in the day but as time has progressed I've gotten used to editing my videos. For a low end Pc you can use Hitfilm Express.

Optimise Your Channel:

Ensure your YouTube channel is well-optimised for search engines and discoverability. Use relevant keywords in your video titles, descriptions, and tags. Create eye-catching thumbnails and compelling channel art that reflects your brand identity.

When it comes to a viewer going through to your video, a stunning bespoke video thumbnail can make all the difference. It's a really simple technique to give your video a polished appearance.

You've probably seen dozens, if not hundreds, of cool thumbnails on YouTube if you've spent any time there. Exciting visuals, smiling or just generally attractive people. A compelling thumbnail entices you to view the video. On the other hand, you've likely seen a tonne of other videos that don't appear to have given it any thought at all. Most likely, it's just a random still from the movie.

There's a rationale behind that.

By default, YouTube (and other video sites) will choose a thumbnail for your video from a variety of still images from it if you don't select and submit one yourself. And I'm here to inform you that it will probably not be flattering.

It's practically a given that the default thumbnail will include an odd or unpleasant facial expression if your movie has a speaker.

Engage with Your Community:

Actively engage with your viewers by responding to comments, asking for feedback, and encouraging discussions. Building a strong and interactive community around your channel will foster loyalty and attract more viewers.

Even if meaningful community engagement is a benefit in and of itself, it doesn't cover your expenses. Fortunately, a high engagement rate also brings about measurable advantages. Audiences that are highly engaged are more inclined to share your material, boosting your visibility and bringing additional visitors to your website. Additionally, people are more inclined to believe the product suggestions you make, increasing your sales or affiliate link income.

Collaborate with Others:

Collaborating with other game content creators can be mutually beneficial. Seek opportunities to collaborate on videos, podcasts, or livestreams with creators in your niche. This can expand your reach and introduce you to new audiences.

Promote Your Channel:

Utilize social media platforms and gaming communities to promote your channel. Share your videos on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and relevant forums. Participate in discussions and contribute value to the community to establish yourself as a reputable content creator.

Additionally, collaborate with other content creators in your niche. This not only helps you reach a wider audience, but it also allows for cross-promotion of your channels. Consider reaching out to other creators through social media or email to discuss potential collaborations.

Stay Consistent and Patient:

Building a successful YouTube channel takes time and effort. Stay consistent with your content uploads, even if the initial growth is slow. Keep improving, experimenting, and learning from your experiences. Patience and perseverance are key to long-term success.

Conclusion:

Starting a YouTube channel as a game content creator can be an exciting and rewarding journey. By defining your niche, planning your content, investing in equipment, and engaging with your audience, you'll be well on your way to building a thriving channel. Remember to stay true to yourself, be consistent, and enjoy the process. Embrace the adventure and keep leveling up your YouTube game!
